Anti-Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy
Excelerate Ltd is committed to acting ethically, responsibly and with integrity across our business, supplier relationships and wider operational network. We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour and human trafficking.
Our statement
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It can take various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking. Each of these practices involves the deprivation of a person’s liberty in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
Excelerate Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to implementing appropriate systems, controls and supplier expectations to reduce the risk of modern slavery occurring within our own business or supply chains.
We expect the same high standards from our employees, suppliers, contractors, service partners and other business relationships.
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to all persons working for Excelerate Ltd or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees, directors, officers, agency workers, contractors, consultants, third-party representatives, suppliers and business partners.
This policy does not form part of any employee’s contract of employment and may be updated from time to time.
Responsibility for this policy
The company has overall responsibility for ensuring this policy complies with our legal, ethical and commercial obligations. Day-to-day responsibility for implementation, monitoring and review sits with the company’s management team.
Managers are responsible for ensuring that people reporting to them understand this policy and understand the importance of identifying and reporting modern slavery risks.
Supplier and contractor expectations
Excelerate Ltd expects suppliers, contractors and business partners to act ethically and responsibly. We do not knowingly work with organisations involved in slavery, forced labour, human trafficking or exploitative employment practices.
Where appropriate, we may require suppliers and contractors to confirm that they operate suitable controls to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within their own business and supply chains.
- No forced, compulsory or trafficked labour.
- No child labour or exploitative employment practices.
- No withholding of identity documents, wages or basic worker freedoms.
- Compliance with relevant employment, health, safety and human rights laws.
- Prompt reporting of any suspected modern slavery risk.
Reporting concerns
Anyone working for or with Excelerate Ltd is encouraged to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chain at the earliest possible stage.
Concerns should be reported to a line manager, company director or the Managing Director. Reports made in good faith will be treated seriously and handled appropriately.
We are committed to supporting anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith, even if those concerns later turn out to be mistaken. We will not tolerate detrimental treatment connected with raising a modern slavery concern.
Communication and awareness
This policy is communicated internally and is made available through the Excelerate Ltd website. Where appropriate, awareness of modern slavery risks forms part of internal communication, supplier management and employee induction processes.
Our zero-tolerance approach should be communicated to suppliers, contractors and business partners where relevant to the working relationship.
Breaches of this policy
Any employee who breaches this policy may face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct.
We may terminate our relationship with individuals, suppliers, contractors or organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy or fail to meet the standards expected by Excelerate Ltd.
