Pallet Wrap Cost Calculator

Stop Comparing Roll Price. Calculate Cost Per Pallet.

Pallet wrap cost is not decided by roll price alone. It is decided by how much film is actually applied to each pallet, how the machine stretches it, how the load behaves and how many pallets the site wraps every week.

Use the calculator below to estimate your current cost per pallet and compare it against an Excelerate 12mu nano film benchmark.

Pallet Wrap Cost & Savings Calculator

Enter your current film and wrapping details. If you do not know your applied film weight, the calculator will estimate usage using load type, pallet type, load weight and current film thickness.

Your Current Setup

For the most accurate result, wrap a normal pallet, carefully remove the applied film and weigh it in grams. That gives the real film usage per pallet.

This is shown because heavy cores can distort the real amount of usable film on the roll.
Wrap a normal pallet, remove the film, then weigh the film in grams.

Estimated Result

This compares your current calculated cost per pallet against an Excelerate 12mu nano film benchmark of £40 per 16kg roll using 160g per pallet.

Current cost per pallet £0.00
Benchmark cost per pallet £0.40
Applied film used 0g
Current annual spend £0
Benchmark annual spend £0
Potential annual saving £0

Why Roll Price Alone Is Misleading

A cheaper roll can still cost more per pallet if the film is heavier, stretches poorly, needs more revolutions or creates instability. The real commercial number is the cost to wrap the load.

Applied Grams Matter

The weight of film applied to each pallet usually tells the truth faster than roll price. Two films can have similar roll prices but completely different usage per load.

Machine Setup Changes Everything

Pre-stretch, tension, roller condition, carriage behaviour and wrap pattern all affect real film consumption and load containment.

Containment Still Comes First

The lowest cost pallet is useless if the load fails. Savings must be balanced against stability, product risk and transport performance.

What We Look At During A Film Saving Project

Excelerate does not treat pallet wrap as a commodity. Film performance depends on the load, the machine, the operator process and the containment requirement.

Film Weight Actual grams applied per pallet, not only the thickness written on the box.
Pre-Stretch How the machine stretches and controls the film before it reaches the pallet.
Load Type Square, stable loads behave very differently from irregular mixed product.
Containment Whether the wrapped load is actually stable enough for handling and transport.

Want The Real Cost Per Pallet?

If the calculator shows a saving opportunity, the next step is to test film performance properly. Excelerate can review your current usage, machine setup, containment requirement and film specification to identify the real cost per pallet.
