Pre-Stretch vs Power Pre-Stretch: Film Yield Depends On The Full System

A major part of pallet wrap optimisation is understanding whether the site is using pre-stretched film, standard machine film or a Power Pre-Stretch (PPS) carriage system.

These are not the same thing. Pre-stretched pallet wrap has already had most usable stretch removed during manufacture, while Power Pre-Stretch systems stretch compatible machine film dynamically through the carriage during wrapping.

If the film type, carriage system and wrap settings are not aligned, sites can lose yield, increase film snapping, reduce containment force or apply more plastic than the load actually needs.
